This Poem is dedicated in memory of two of our fallen comrades Clayborn Jones and Carzelle Miller! Also to the late Ethel "Dawn" Brown I love and miss you MA!!!
"CRISIS IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY"
There's a CRISIS in our hoods! Wait, let me say it again in case you mis-understood. There's a CRISIS in our hoods! And yes I'm here to tell you that it "Ain't All Good! This message is for you, those that care and to those that should. Seems like there is a plan to destroy our communities but too many of us our so deaf, dumb, and blind to even think that there could or would! But you see I'm here to represent the truth and bring to light the fact that there can and if we take the time to cut these idiot boxes off long enough you can see the master plan! I'm talking every aspect of everyday life. Just take a look around our communities and all you see is nothing but PAIN, MISERY, STRIFE and LOSS of Life! And you know I'm Right! But the question becomes where did we go wrong? Yeah its true we've been held down for so long and most of our leaders still got us singing the same old songs! Like "We Shall Overcome, We Shall Overcome Someday! Someday! Will somebody please tell me when will that day be? You see it’s truly time we face reality and overstand that the answers lie in You and In Me! Now tell me. Are you really tired of seeing crack on your street? I mean are you really tired of seeing our young sistah's shake their tail feathers for a fee? Or is it just me? And what about all the Genocide and Mentacide and the child Homocide rate being #1 in the D! Also according to the C.D.C. we just recently surpassed Tennesee to have the #1 Syphilis rate in the whole damn country! But you see they can never fool me because I will never forget Tuskegee! I hope somebody can feel me! I will never forget Tuskegee! Or our many ancestors that died so we can sag our pants while their bodies swung from a tree! And finally do you really think that this is supposed to be our destiny? I mean do you really think that you’re FREE! Slaving to pay these utilities while our oppressors continue to oppress more over seas! PLEASE Believe There is a CRISIS in the Black Community and we can no longer afford to just let that be! PEACE!!!
Sincerely,

Weusi Olusola,
President and Program Director
